Police recovered £1,500 worth of bikes after a Chorley crime victim spotted them for sale on an auction website.
Matthew Garstang, of Athol Grove, had two bikes belonging to him and son, Christopher, stolen from his camper van on January 1.
He recognised what he believed were distinguishing marks on bikes for sale on eBay and contacted officers.
They subsequently recovered the bikes, along with four other suspected stolen ones from an address in Bolton.
A 36-year-old man from the Chorley area was arrested on suspicion of theft and has been bailed while police inquiries continue.
