WITTON Park High School pupils are boxed in by presents as they do their bit to help less fortunate children throughout the world.

Scott Floyd, Jade Charnley, Jennie Fisher and Kayleigh Hesketh, all 14, were helping at St Mark's Church, Blackburn, one of the collection points for Operation Christmas Child.

More than 700 shoeboxes have been filled with Christmas goodies and collected by the church and these will be sent as presents to children in need.

Boxes of basic toiletries, school stationery, hats, gloves and scarves and small toys have been collected by various groups and individuals.

They will be sent to children who would otherwise have literally nothing this Christmas - to show that the world does care.

Schools, churches community groups and many individuals have contributed to the national annual event via the west Blackburn church.
