A SMALL van went into the central reservation on the M65 causing tailbacks between Darwen and Riley Green.
The accident happened around 9.15am this morning.
The outside lane was closed and a 50mph limit imposed on the other lane as the vehicle was recovered.
The motorway was fully re-opened just before 10am.
Traffic was held up between junction four and three on the westbound carriageway while the accident was cleared.
