A Blackburn MC is making a return to the music scene with a new album following a three-year break.

And to launch himself back into his music Naseem Khan, known as Nas-T, will be jetting off to India in the hope of securing a track on a new Bollywood film.

The 32-year-old, who will be leaving for India next month, is confident his music will be welcomed by film directors.

Nas-T has spent the last decade breaking into the Asian music scene and now has national and worldwide recognition in his genre.

With gigs as far away as India and Canada and playing to crowds of thousands in the UK, the dad-of-two also holds down a regular job.

During the day he is a customer advisor but always makes time to produce and record music at his own studio in Blackburn.

The former Pleckgate High School and Blackburn College student said: “Music is my hobby.

"I started making mixed tapes when I was 14 in my bedroom but then by 19 I had my first collaboration.

“It has always been my hobby from a young age. My family have got used to it because they knew this was my ambition.

“I wanted to be a DJ and now I have my own studio and make my own music.

“My third album, Meant 2 Be, will be out in a couple of months.”

Nas-T has performed with the likes of So Solid Crew, Trevor Nelson and Tim Westwood but before working with some of the country’s top DJs and MCs his music was often played at weddings and birthdays.

He said: “If I am successful when I go to India next month it will open up another genre for me.

“I am realistic, you have to be very fortunate to get a multi-million pound contract.

“I would encourage anyone else interested in music to look at it as a hobby and make sure they work and get educated too.

“People know of me and my music across the world but not as much here in Blackburn.

“It would be good to get local support too.

“But for me it’s all about the music, as long as you are living the dream that’s all that it is about — and I am living the dream.”
