A NEW public garden has been dedicated to a popular former councillor.
The site, just outside the Alma Inn pub, has been unveiled to the memory of ‘Mr Baxenden’, the late John Griffiths, left, in recognition of his commitment to the town.
Lynn Griffiths opened the garden in memory of her husband, who was a local councillor for over 10 years.
Lynn is seen with Coun Kath Pratt, Terry Hurn, Peter Griffiths and Coun Peter Britcliffe.
