A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl who suffers from a serious heart condition has enjoyed a tearful reunion with her pet dog after a weekend of worry.
Georgia Strong’s dog Dude went missing on Friday night when her family moved from Skegness to Nelson.
The youngster, who suffers from a septal defect in her hearth, spent the first day at her new school, St John’s Primary School, worrying about Dude’s fate.
But dog wardens in Pendle spotted the Jack Russell near to the M65, yesterday afternoon, and the terrier was whisked to safety.
Her aunt, Yvonne Wearden, said: “He is pretty lucky to be alive really. Now he’s back with Georgia and she’s really happy.”
Dude was given to Georgia two years ago as a birthday present.
