MORE than 800 bargain-mad shoppers crowded into an electrical store in just two days.

Staff at Barnoldswick-based Harry Garlick said the response during the bumper sales weekend at the firm’s Albion Mill depot in Earby surpassed all expectations.

And more than 50 per cent of shoppers made purchases, said bosses.

Ian Scothern, commercial director at Harry Garlick, said: “We were confident that the sale would be popular, but the turnout on both days exceeded our expectations.

“We offered fantastic prices on everything we stock and sales went very well.

"There were no obvious favourites though, people were buying a wide range including flat screen TVs and digital cameras."
