A CHARITY sleep-over on the streets of Blackburn on one of the coldest nights of the winter raised £12,000.
Nightsafe, the local charity for homeless young people, held the “sleeping rough” night to raise money and awareness.
It formed part of the charity’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
Linda Sharratt, from the charity, said: “To date the event has raised an incredible £12,000 which far exceeds our expectations.
“We would like to thank all those who braved the freezing conditions and slept out and all their sponsors for making this such a successful event.
“The money raised will help us continue our work in this difficult time of funding cuts.”
The sleep night was held in December.
