CLOCKS go forward this Sunday as British Summer Time begins.
At 1am clocks go forward to 2am to give an extra hour of daylight in the evenings but darker mornings.
Daylight saving was suggested in 1784 by the American inventor and politician Benjamin Franklin to allow people to enjoy more light in the evenings.
