DRUNKEN spectators at a cricket match in Burnley were involved in a mass brawl after fighting broke out in the stands.
Police were called to the incident at Burnley Cricket Club, Belvedere Road which involved around 20 people.
Officers attending the incident, which happened at the Lancashire League Burnley v Church match on Saturday afternoon, said the trouble had died down by the time they arrived.
Sergeant Vicki Haworth said: "We received a few calls from people about fighting at the cricket club.
"Several patrols attended the incident but by the time they arrived the fighting had been stopped and people had scarpered.
"The match had to be stopped for a short time. Nobody was arrested. "
It is believed Bolton Wanderers football fans attending their team's game with Burnley FC at Turf Moor were involved in the skirmish.
