A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was threatened with a gun by a group of youths as he walked in the street in Nelson, police said today.

The victim was walking in Deerstone Road when the offenders approached him and demanded his PlayStation 2.

One of the group then pulled a gun from his jacket in the incident which happened at 8.10pm on Sunday.

Police today said the boy, who was shaken, would have to be formally interviewed because of the nature of the incident and to establish full details of what happened.

Sergeant Robin Lancaster said: "One of the group pulled the gun out and pointed at him while resting it on his arm.

"Because of the nature of the incident the boy is going to have to have a formal interview to establish more details.

"It was a nasty incident and we would ask anybody with information to contact the police."

The offenders were all Asian. Two were aged about 16 and were wearing all black clothing.

One also had a light green shirt on.

The other is about 12 and was wearing a pink collared shirt with a blue and yellow tie.
