A 50-YEAR-OLD Darwen woman died as a result of sclerosis liver problems caused by excessive drinking over a long period, an inquest heard.
Jeannie Stewart-Smith, of Thompson Street, Darwen, was said to have been drinking heavily in the months before her death and had not eaten for four or five days before her death.
Coroner Michael Singleton recorded a verdict of natural causes.
