A BURNLEY man who was jailed for supplying heroin last year has been ordered by pay back over £10,000.
Jameel Khan, 41, was brought back before the courts under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Khan, of Thorn Street, was found to have benefited from his crimes to the value of £10,170 and has been told that he must pay back the full amount within 28 days.
If he fails to do so, Khan will have to serve a default prison sentence of eight months and still owe the money on his release, with accrued interest.
Khan was arrested in June last year following a drugs warrant at his home address.
He appeared at court on November 13 where he pleaded guilty to four offences of supplying heroin and was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Financial Investigator Adrian Crorken said: “Through our investigations we have been able to show that Khan has benefited from his general criminal lifestyle.
“And this case underlines our determination to recover the proceeds of crime.
“Khan is a criminal and should not be allowed to enjoy the profits from his crime, a crime which ultimately destroys communities.”
