Three teenage girls who got disorientated while walking from a pub up Hameldon Hill had to be rescued by Pendle and Rossendale Mountain Rescue Team at 5.30pm yesterday.
After setting off from the Hapton Inn, Accrington Road, the girls realised they could not find their way, and, suffering from heat exhaustion, they phoned the police for help.
A helicopter was sent to locate them, and members of the rescue team guided them off the moors.
Nobody was injured.
