THE hunt for a ‘green man’ who allegedly broke into a Burnley homeowner’s car has led police to Greater Manchester.
Police have confirmed that a 23-year-old suspect has been questioned over the raid in Romford Street, off Padiham Road, when a householder sprayed a green vegetable dye over a suspected car thief.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said that a man was later arrested by a Greater Manchester Police officer on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in the Horwich area of Bolton.
The officer noticed green stains on the man, remembered media appeals and informed his Lancashire colleagues about the incident.
Police said the unnamed man, who was also quizzed about drug possession in Horwich, has been remanded on bail until May 11.
