The singer, who lives in Huncoat and went to Westholme School in Blackburn, will be showcasing songs from her new album at the shows later this summer.

She will appear alongside top bands including Kings of Leon and Stereophonics.

V2010 takes place on the weekend of August 21 and 22 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire.

She will perform on the Arena Stage at Weston Park on the Saturday and Hylands Park on the Sunday.

Each festival venue attracts up to 90,000 fans but the Arena Stage is one of the smaller stages.

It is already number four in the HMV pre-order chart.

On Monday she was on the Scott Mills Radio One show and she has also made appearances on GMTV in the hope of scoring a high chart position for her single.
