CATHOLIC singer-songwriter and poet Gerry Coates is hitting the road in aid of Catholic Charities with a series of free concerts. And one of his stops will be in Blackburn on June 21.
Described as a "foot tapping musical mission", Gerry leads the audience through a contrast of experiences about God, the Church, life and, above all, caring for others in need, in an evening of his own original material.
Gerry's nightly opening song tells us we're all "Going to Heaven" before including songs about such things as miracles, forgiveness, friendship and poverty.
He provides a mix of emotions in a fast moving show, which never seems to be in a rush.
In fact, Gerry's casual relaxed style brings an intimate atmosphere to the concert stage which gives these evenings a unique opportunity to reflect on one's own life.
Gerry Coates is at Sacred Heart and St Anne Church, Blackburn on Wednesday, June 21. Admission free.
