A NEW £3million building project at an Accrington school has been officially opened.
The technology and sports facilities at St Christopher's CE High School in Queen's Road West were unveiled by schools minister Jim Knight.
Headteacher Alasdair Coates said the project aims to provide "teaching and pupil facilities for the 21st century."
Mr Knight was at St Christopher's yesterday to see work by the pupils in the art rooms before viewing food and textiles facilities.
The school is also in the process of creating an £8million sixth-form centre.
The centre would initially cater for around 32 A-level subjects based on demand with courses ranging from further maths to theatre studies.
Facilities would include a drama studio, library, small gym, common room and nursery provision as part of a bid to be an asset to the community.
