MORE than 100 people took part in an Easter service at the top of The Coppice yesterday.
The annual event was organised by churches across Hyndburn, and pupils from St Christopher’s School and Mount Carmel School, in Accrington, took part.
The children performed the 10 ‘stations of the cross’ at sites along the way to the summit, after the event began at 11.30am.
Prayers were said and a hymn was sung once the group reached a cross, which had been put in place on Palm Sunday.
An Easter Sunday service will take place at the top of The Coppice at 7.30am.
Paul Moxham, from the Knights of St Columba, said the event was a great success.
