ONE of the men who made the Hacienda, one of the most famous clubs in the world, will be playing in Blackburn on May 26.

DJ Graeme Park, a resident at the legendary Manchester club, will be the special guest at the North Bar.

The last time he played in Blackburn, the night was a sell-out and over 100 people had to be turned away at the door.

Graham said: "I sometimes think that we don't realise how special the Hacienda was.

"There is a whole generation of clubbers out there who never attended it yet it still means something to them.

"It is 10 years since the Hacienda closed yet people still want to tell me about it every weekend."

"I never know exactly what I will play until the night," he said.

"It all depends on the audience and the atmosphere, but I will be be playing a mix of Hacienda tracks and some new stuff."

Graham is still one of the leading pioneers one the club scene.

"I do think because there is so much out there that there is more rubbish to go through before you unearth something genuinely exciting.

"When the original House music came over from Chicago it was new and immediately had an impact.

"But now anyone can bang a tune together but it doesn't mean that it is any good.

"But you keep listening because you will still find those good sounds."

Graham is due to play a set from around 11pm. Other DJs on the night are North Bar regulars Grant Holmes and Easy D.

Graeme Park, North Bar, Blackburn, Friday, May 26, from 6pm to 2.30am, admission £6 on the door.
