AN Edenfield man has been inspired by his brave stepson to join Sir Ian Botham on a charity walk to raise money to beat childhood leukaemia.

Mark Pilling, 32, will accompany ‘Beefy’ at Heaton Park, Manchester, on Saturday, April 10, to raise cash for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Mark’s five-year-old stepson, Cameron, was diagnosed with T-Cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL) last year and has undergone months of intensive treatments including chemotherapy.

Mr Pilling, of Market Street, said: “Every day was a battle but we kept coming back stronger. Cameron transformed from a weak and scared little five-year old, who had lost his hair and his confidence, to a brave young boy who has fought cancer.”
