A SECOND youth has been slapped with an ASBO for giving drunken abuse to residents on a Burnley estate.

Jason Holmes, 16, appeared at Reedley Magistrates Court following complaints from residents on the Kibble Bank Estate.

Holmes, who has been in trouble with the police over the past few years, was given an ASBO after Burnley Council took civil proceedings.

Jonathan Jackson, prosecuting for the council, said: “Jason has now been issued an ASBO which we hope will mark a change in his behaviour.

“He will not be able to hang around with other troublemakers on the estate, act in any way which could cause alarm or distress to residents.

“He has also been prohibited from possessing alcohol in any public place.

“If Jason breaches these conditions, he can face imprisonment, but to be fair to him, he has taken it all on board and is keen to co-operate with us.”

Earlier this week, Charley Green, of Liverpool Road, was banned from part of Burnley after a catalogue of offences.

His crimes include robbery, common assault, burglary, possession of cannabis, verbal abuse, criminal damage, obstructing police, harassment and intimidating a witness.

The 14-year-old received an interim ASBO.

It also means he cannot associate with more than three people in public at any time, walk through parts of Rosegrove unaccompanied by an adult or throw any objects with intent to harm.
