It doesn't need a rocket scientist to know that London was bombed because of Blair's insistence on invading Iraq, supported by Preston MP Mark Hendrick.

This single act infuriated Muslims worldwide. Likewise, Britain's blinding acquiescence to the Israeli occupation of Palestine marks her out as an enemy, as does her tacit support of various dictators parading as kings and presidents in places like Saudi-occupied Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan.

If politicians really want to stop terror then let's leave out the macho tough talk and get down to business. In order to prevent attacks, I believe that we first have to sit down and have a dialogue with terrorists, like we did with the IRA. Secondly, we have to recognise that if we go out and invade or support oppression in other countries, then we will pay a price.

Thirdly, we will get nowhere if we don't have the support of British Muslims. They are a natural link between the West and the Islamic world as they understand both worlds. However, Blair's government has made an enemy of them through its draconian anti-terror laws and these laws have to be reviewed.

Sadly, politicians are more interested in declaring false moral outrage than they are in tackling terror. Meanwhile the rest of us have to suffer as a result of their actions. It is time to call people like Tony Blair and Mark Hendrick to account.
