JAKE the three-legged mongrel is in need of your help this week.

This small to medium sized dog, five years old, lost a leg in a road traffic accident.

However, he made a full recovery and is in very good health.

Sadly his owner died and Jake was placed in an animal shelter where he was to be put to sleep in seven days.

On his last day Mrs Fryer, a lady from Blackburn, discovered his plight and was sure that someone could love him.

Mrs Fryer said: "Jake is a lovely sweet-natured dog, he would make a fine companion. He is very obedient and fully inoculated."

Jake would be well suited to an elderly person or mature family. If you would like to rescue Jake, please call Mrs Fryer on Blackburn 01254 207660.

Last week's plea from Brutus the alsatian was again successful. The RSPCA are checking his new home for suitability.
