BUSINESSMAN Barry Joyce came back home after living in Australia with a new business idea.
And the globetrotting entrepreneur has now set up on his own producing ornamental ironwork.
"I used to be a toolmaker and ironmongery was one of my hobbies," explained Barry.
"But after living in Australia and seeing the emphasis they put on security with houses surrounded by ornate security doors, fences and gates, I realised I could turn my hobby into a viable business venture."
Barry contacted Burnley Enterprise Trust for advice on business planning and marketing and secured a loan from Midland Bank, to set up Portcullis Ornamental Ironwork.
The firm, based in Springhill Road, Burnley, specialises in wrought ironwork such as security doors, gates and railings for both domestic and commercial use.
