HOSPITAL staff leaders snubbed the chance to join the team steering Burnley district health services to self-government.
But the Community Health Council, which this week agreed to take part, were to become the official patient services watchdog if the area became a Health Trust.
Staff rejected the invitation to get involved, saying it would prejudice their opposition to moves they believed would fragment the NHS.
