A STARTLED landlord watched in disbelief as a police van arrived at his pub . . . carrying a white goat.
Phil Mulcock, of the Traders Arms, Mellor, was contacted by a woman who said she had found the animal in her back garden, and asked whether it was his.
Mr Mulcock, who has two goats of his own, said: "The woman inquired whether I kept goats but I checked and my two were still there.
"She was worried that the goat might run onto a road and cause an accident. Then the police asked whether I would look after it until the owner turned up. I agreed but couldn't believe my eyes when it arrived."
