MYSTERY solved! It's a "tree." At first, I thought the sculpture erected at Greenbank Business Park in Blackburn was a communications device belonging to Nynex across the road.
Now, I know from your report (LET, January 20) what it is supposed to be - a tree. Moreover, one costing £1,200. It is, of course, possible to buy a few proper trees with that amount of money.
I am not impressed by a few bits of stainless steel and tin, not even on an industrial site - even more reason, I think, to have trees of the environmentally-friendly, non-metallic growing variety.
