STUART Ripley could well miss Blackburn Rovers' trip to Old Trafford on Saturday. The winger pulled up with hamstring problems in the opening minutes of the game against Bolton Wanderers.

He had to be substituted after only seven minutes and Rovers boss Ray Harford admitted: "With a hamstring you are usually looking at 10 days.

"But he did come off straight away and that might be a help. We'll have to wait and see."

Ripley's absence would be a big blow to Rovers and he must be rated very doubtful, despite taking care not to aggravate the damage.

United have problems of their own, with Steve Bruce a doubt after needing stitches in a head wound at Selhurst Park.
