REGARDING the 'revised' local plan for Hyndburn. Can the Council justify completely surrounding Huncoat village with industry and housing?
Recently, council tax money was paid to a private public relations firm to gauge public opinion and smooth over concerns about the very unpopular, long-standing scheme to cover all the fields west of Huncoat with houses.
As if that was not enough, they now plan to designate the fields east of the village off Lowergate Road and Towneley Avenue as industrial land. As a payoff, we will get derelict railway sidings as 'green belt.' This kick in the teeth means 112 local protesters have been completely ignored.
I urge members of the council to question how this disgraceful scheme to submerge Huncoat under houses and units can be in the best interests of its people.
There must be a better way of improving Hyndburn and Huncoat.
