DARWEN began their new season with a double defeat at the hands of the Blackpool.
In the their Vaux Northern League clash Darwen struggled to 113-9 with Neil Cordingley (29no) top-scoring.
Blackpool had no trouble with the bat and surpassed Darwen's total without losing a single wicket.
Against Blackpool again in the Abbot Ale Cup, Darwen tasted a second defeat.
They made 99-9 with the bat and then failed to hold Blackpool who reached 100-1 to take the game.
