I NO longer believe that our politicians and church leaders are inspired, even at Easter time, to preach the message of peace.
The Government - backed by Tony Blair - has decided to make a show of armed force at this time, in regards to the Irish question and perhaps that is an indication that the mad cow disease has already spread to religious groups and government.
A Christian statesman of stature would have sent a message to the IRA by withdrawing all weaponry, so that the spirit of Easter could have some effect - especially in a land which believes that Easter brings the message of peace.
