THE elusive "feel good factor" could be returning, according to new figures from the national cashpoint network, LINK.

Despite being the coldest May for 73 years, activity in the High Street was red hot and levels of cash machine transactions were at an all-time high.

At over £22.5 million, they were up a staggering 32 per cent on the same time last year.

LINK chief executive John Hardy added: "With the heatwave of the first few days of June, who knows what this month's results will show."
