UNLIKE Tom Bromley (Letters, June 11) Mrs Sheila Brennan is a lady of principle, compassion and courage of her convictions, which are qualities which remain a mystery to vivisectionists and their cohorts.

Medical experiments on animals, fox hunting and barbaric ritual slaughter were strictly forbidden in Germany during the Third Reich.

In this respect, the Third Reich was far more ethical and humane in its treatment of animals than any other nation now or since.

If Tom Bromley is so concerned for the health of the nation, perhaps he can persuade the Government to stop importing disease into Britain via the third world, such as tuberculosis, which had been eradicated in this country by the 1950s and is now rampant in the East End of London.

Likewise, HIV infection and the deadly Ebola Virus from Africa, against which British people have no natural immunity.

SYLVIA NOBLE (Mrs), Albert Road, Colne.
