A SOCCER mad England supporter and her Spanish senor are set for an "olM-N" love match as England and Spain do battle at Wembley tomorrow.

But the East Lancashire love birds have not let the Euro 96 football clash foul up their wedding plans.

Janet Marie Whelan, 25, and Shaun Fiano Fernandez, 27, will kick off their marriage ceremony at 2pm - and shoot off to the wedding reception in time for the start of play at 3pm.

"We are both absolutely mad football fans," said Janet, "it's a bit unfortunate that the wedding has clashed with this game but we will see what we can do."

Janet, of Whalley, met Shaun - born in England to a Spanish father named Manuel - seven years ago and the couple already share a home in Longworth Road, Whalley.

They also work together at Ultraframe in Clitheroe.

Both are keen Blackburn Rovers fans and have not let the rivalry get in the way of arrangements since their respective national teams were drawn together earlier this week.

Janet added: "We have both been supporting both of the teams equally and haven't fallen out about it once."

The wedding will take place at Whalley Parish Church with the reception at the Higher Trapp, Simonstone.

But whatever the outcome of the football, the Spanish team will definitely be the winner at the wedding.

A classical Spanish guitarist will serenade guests, the groom and best man will wear matador-style cummerbunds and the wedding dress is traditional English ivory coloured - with a sunny Spain style.
