ABROADCASTER, just back from America, said: "There is no road-rage, no racing and everyone drives within the speed limits."

This is a familiar story of sensible American driving. There must be some truth in it.

Our politicians and police should visit the States and discover how to bring a greater degree of safety to our roads.

There must be more to it than the multi-million pound advertising campaigns indulged in by the Ministry of Transport.
