STUDENTS donned clothes from the First World War and took a trip into the past when they performed a school play.

Pupils at Brownedge St Mary's, High School, Bamber Bridge, performed the WW1 drama The Accrington Pals for two nights as the centrepiece of a week celebrating The History of the Twentieth Century.

They were also joined during the week (October 21-25) by over 160 pupils from primary and secondary schools throughout South Ribble who gathered to raise funds for the Malcolm Sargeant Cancer Fund and the Roald Dahl Foundation.

Younger students performed Snapshots of the Century, where they sung and danced their way through 100 years of music and there was also an exhibition of historical items loaned by the County Museum.
