FUND-RAISERS have urged the public to support a grand gala show at King George's Hall to raise cash for the SuperScan appeal.
The spectacular event will give the £1 million appeal a major boost.
Comedian Lennie Bennett will be the star of the show at the Blackburn venue on November 8. The entertainment extravaganza will also feature international concert pianist Martin Roscoe.
Terry Barber, the SuperScan appeal's fund-raising chairman for the Blackburn area, said: "This is going to be a brilliant night. I would urge people to buy their tickets because not only will it be a great night, but they will also be supporting a worthy local charity." Also on the bill will be the Pat Eakets Dancers, the Westholme School Choir and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society.
Music will come from the St Mary's College Big Band and musical director is Colin Hilton. Tickets, at £6 and £5, are available from King George's Hall (Tel: 582582)
The SuperScan appeal is aiming to buy a life-saving Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner for East Lancashire people.
To be housed at Blackburn Infirmary, it will be able to pinpoint a range of conditions, from life-threatening cancers to sports injuries.
Doctors feel an MRI scanner has become a necessity and not a luxury and East Lancashire is now one of the biggest areas without such a scanner.
