THE doors of Accrington and Rossendale College's newest facilities are being thrown open to school leavers and the public.

Open evenings are being staged next month at all the college's centres in Accrington and Rossendale.

They will be the first opportunity for many people to see the latest facilities, including The Globe in Accrington and the new Creative Arts Centre in Rawtenstall.

The Globe building in St James Square is now the headquarters of the catering and hotel management section. Students there are the first in the country to manage and operate their own hotel, restaurant and bistro.

The Creative Arts Centre now houses media, performing arts, art and design, popular music, hairdressing and beauty therapy under one roof.

Visitors to the Rawtenstall site on Wednesday, November 6, can tour the new television, radio and desktop publishing studios along with the performing arts, dance and music technology studios.

The Lea Bank Centre in Rossendale will be open the same evening for people interested in studying nursery nursing and business studies.

The Globe, along with the college's main Sandy Lane centre and the construction and motor vehicle centre at Eagle Street will be open to visitors the following evening, Thursday, November 7.

Both open nights run from 6.45 to 9pm and a free minibus service will operate between the different centres.
