COWIE Group, the car trader and bus operator, has signed a deal to lease non-combat hardware such as fork-lift trucks to the Ministry of Defence.
But the company, which has a major dealership in Blackburn, disclosed it was also involved in talks with the MoD about leasing main battle tanks and armoured personnel carriers to the Army.
The business would be run in the same way it supplies car fleets to firms nationwide.
