CALLOUS thieves who stole a family pet from a driveway have left a little girl in tears.

Rebecca Smith, 10, was devastated when her six-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier Kev was taken last Thursday.

Her father Michael is offering a reward for the safe return of the dog.

He said: "Rebecca has taken it really badly. She has had Kev since she was four and can't believe somebody has stolen him. Christmas just isn't going to be the same without him."

Kev, who is light brown with a white chest, had his collar removed and was taken from the driveway of the Smith's home in Marsham Grove, Darwen, between 8am and 4pm.

Mr Smith added: "We have tried everything to try and trace him and just hope somebody has the heart to return him for Rebecca's sake."

Anybody with information should ring Mr Smith on 701039 or police on 701777.
