PEOPLE in Preston could receive an unexpected phone call next week from someone wanting to know their views on the redevelopment of local hospitals.
Health watchdog, the Community Health Council (CHC), has had to resort to a telephone poll as members of the public have shown so little interest in the future of the Royal Preston and Sharoe Green Hospitals.
Despite a public meeting attended by 133 people, widespread press coverage and a questionnaire, only 39 offered their opinion on the changes.
Chief CHC officer Angelene True said: "People don't often come forward with their views so we have to go out there and get them."
