POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was left shaken in a town centre struggle with youngsters who tried to snatch her bag.
On Monday (December 2), just after 6pm, two boys approached the 24-year-old as she walked on Lune Street. They tried to steal her handbag before running off.
One of them returned a few moments later and threatened the woman with a knife but again fled empty handed.
Both boys are described as being about ten-years-old, white and about 5ft tall.
Preston CID's Bob Helm, said: "I am alarmed at how young these offenders were.
"It is still fairly busy at that time of day and I would urge anyone with any information to contact police on 203203," he added.
One was wearing a dark woollen hat and red jacket and the other a blue jacket, dark cap and had a rucksack with the logo JD on it.
