GHOSTS, ghouls and things that go bump in the night!

They are appearing all over the region according to Sybil Lucas-Brewer, one of the founder members of the new Paranorth Ghost Club. And the members are out to prove it.

Sybil and veteran ghostbuster Jason Karl have just set up the new Preston-based group and they will be touring allegedly haunted sites across the North West in search of ghostly goings-on.

"We will meet in pubs which have a reputation for being haunted," she said: "We will go along for an overnight vigil and see if they really are."

She and Jason are both members of the national group, the Ghost Research Foundation, and have already visited more than 100 supposedly haunted houses.

They claim to have witnessed ghosts and ghouls first-hand, and say they even have recorded evidence on video, audio tape and photographs, proving that ghosts really do exist.

And if you don't believe them, the intrepid pair challenge you to join them on one of their all-night vigils.

"We're open to avid ghost hunters and sceptics alike," said Sybil: "And we're looking for new venues, preferably pubs, so if a landlords wants confirmation that his house is haunted, we would be quite willing to go along."

Sybil's escapades have taken her to Chingle Hall in Goosnargh, reputed to be the most haunted house in Britain, and also to Hoghton Towers, where she recalls "having an interesting experience, being rattled about by one spirit".

She doesn't recommend people of a nervous disposition join them but others who are interested can call either her or Jason on 0410-572588 or 0976-214826 to find out more about their first overnight vigil which takes place tomorrow at a pub near Preston.
