OSWALDTWISTLE Civic Society is the latest organisation to oppose proposed plans for an out-of-town retail and business park on the outskirts of Blackburn and Hyndburn.
The society joins local traders and Friends of the Earth to voice their concerns that such a scheme could kill off town centre trade and ruin the environment.
Society secretary Eric Roberts said: "We object on the grounds of its effect on shopping in Oswaldtwistle and Accrington.
"It will also have a detrimental effect on the environment and increase traffic, noise and pollution for Oswaldtwistle residents."
