THE North West came bottom of the league in the annual battle for more NHS cash.
Health Secretary William Waldegrave signalled that the North West Regional Health Authority was to receive £1,439.6 million is 1992/3, a percentage rise of 8.2 per cent.
But rival area Yorkshire topped the league with an 11.3 per cent rise, or 6.5 per cent in real terms.
