TELEVISION teams will be in the Ribble Valley tomorrow, to prepare for the filming of a Songs of Praise programme in the New Year.

Producer of the Sunday evening BBC programme Norman Ivison will be meeting as many local clergymen as possible to get a background for the forthcoming screening.

Film crews will be in Clitheroe on Wednesday and Thursday, February 19 and 20 to record the programme at St Mary Magdalene's Parish Church and the show will be broadcast on Sunday, April 6.

Mr Ivison said: "We want to meet as many clergy and local church leaders as possible tomorrow so that we can begin to find out more about the area and its Christian heritage."

Mr Ivison, no stranger to the Ribble Valley, added: "I fell in love with the area when we were camping there as a family last year.

"It is such a peaceful place for a holiday and it is ideal if you enjoy historical sites and beautiful villages.

"I haven't climbed Pendle Hill yet, but I hope to get my camera crew to the top sometime in the New Year!"

Any church leader who would like to join in the launch tomorrow can contact 0161 244 3274. Details about tickets for the recording will be available in the New Year on the same number.
