A REWARD of £1,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a gang who robbed 70-year-old Burnley twins after subjecting them to a terrifying ordeal.
Up to five men wearing stocking masks burst into a house in Ormerod Road, Burnley, through the bay window, stormed upstairs to where the brothers were watching television, beat them and tied their hands and feet together with Hoover flex.
One of the brothers was hit across the face with what is believed to be a pick-axe handle.
The twins managed to free themselves after about twenty minutes but the offenders got away with about £1,500 and bank books.
The incident happened at about 10.30pm on Monday at one of the large Victorian houses opposite to Burnley College.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Burnley CID on 01282-425001.
