DEEPDALE pupils replaced the autumn harvest festival with special fund-raising events in aid of people at home and abroad.
Youngsters from Deepdale Infants School rallied round for a collection to thank firemen who stopped their school being burnt to the ground.
Grateful staff came up with the idea following the fire which swept through the roof of Deepdale Infants School on St Stephen's Road, Preston, in August.
A dozen fire engines and more than 40 firefighters battled with the blaze for around nine hours. Two classrooms were destroyed and hundreds of roof tiles were ruined.
The money, almost £50, will go to the fire service's Benevolent Fund.
Meanwhile, next door at Deepdale Juniors, youngsters cooked up many treats to hold a cafe.
Pupils brought in cakes, biscuits, pizzas and samosas to serve up to friends in their temporary snack-bar. The children donned aprons to take on the role of waiter, writing down orders and working out the bill in the four-day event.
They raised £300 for children suffering from leprosy in Nepal.
