A 40-YEAR-OLD man wanted for sexual offences against children has been arrested in Spain following an appeal on Crimewatch.
Glen Tranter, whose last known address was Keighley Road, Colne, was detained in a bar in Benalmadena after local ex-pats recognised him during Monday night's programme.
Tranter is wanted for eight charges of sexual offences against girls under the age of sixteen.
The offences date back to 1992 and are made up of sexual touching of a child through to indecent assault.
Tranter was bailed but failed to attend court and had not been seen since.
Detective Inspector Dave Groombridge said: "This development demonstrates how valuable programmes like Crimewatch can be to these types of investigations."
He is currently detained in Malaga and will be transferred to Madrid for an extradition hearing.
